Name of movie: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Director: Directed by: Joe Johnston

Release Date: July 22, 2011

Summary: During World War II, a young man named Steve Rogers volunteers for an experiment that turns him from a scrawny kid from Brooklyn, New York, to a super soldier named Captain America. He teams up with an elite group of soldiers and they fight to take down the evil Johann Schmidt/Red Skull and his HYDRA organization, which is bent on taking over the world!

My Review: I thought this was a very good movie; I enjoyed the mixup of World War II, a good old-fashioned superhero story, and also, it had some of the good stuff that Thor and X-Men: First Class had. Plus, I was more than happy to see how the movie ties into the Avengers movie, which I hope to see next summer.

My Recommendation: recommended for all fans of Captain America. I also recommend that at the end of the movie, stay in your seats until the credits are complete and you’ll get to see the teaser for the Avengers.

My rating: *****
