My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At first, I wasn’t so sure if I even wanted to read the book; seeing as I had never read any of Crichton’s books before and have only seen several movies that were based off his books.
Pirate Latitudes is about a time period in history where pirates sailed the Caribbean looking for treasure, and Captain Charles Hunter is no exception. His decision to raid a Spanish warship, which was loaded with treasure, leads him and his crew on an adventure like no other, and he must deal with not only finding the treasure, but accusations of piracy, storms, and a monster of the sea known as the kraken.
I say this was a good book to read, like a more mature edition of “Pirates of the Caribbean“. I highly recommend this book to those who love reading about pirates.
