Gone (Gone, #1)Gone by Michael Grant

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I first read GONE, I had a hard time trying to understand the book. It seemed like a cross between Lord of the Flies, LOST, and X-Men. And that’s coming from someone who generally doesn’t read science fiction.

One day, everyone over the age of 15 disappears, leaving behind young teenagers, children, and babies. There’s no TV or radio or internet at all. Perdido Beach is encased in a huge bubble known as the FAYZ. There is food shortage, ruthless bullies, and to make things even more complicated, many kids develop mutant powers. Fights break out and the survivors must and together to survive in this strange new world. And worse yet, when the occupant of the FAYZ turns 15 years old, they disappear as well…

I think that this was a great book, very hard for me to stop reading once I started. I am now preparing to read the sequels to GONE and will be keeping my interest in this series.
